For Immediate Release
May 10, 2015 - 12:00 amNowSecure, which offers a range of powerful tools to help developers, corporations and consumers improve the security of mobile devices and apps, is proud to announce the addition of Paolo Fragomeni to its executive team as Vice President of Engineering.
Fragomeni (@hij1nx) has been active in the Open Source and software development communities for over 15 years. In 2010 he left a research position at MIT to found and serve as CTO at Nodejitsu, later acquired by GoDaddy. He also founded and served as CTO at Hereishowto, later acqui-hired by Mic Networks, where he also served as CTO. In addition, he has advised several startups including Poptip, later acquired by Palantir.
He will continue to organize Data Terra Nemo, a conference for cryptographically secure decentralized systems and protocols.
At NowSecure, he works directly with the company’s co-founder and CEO Andrew Hoog to lead the NowSecure engineering team, consisting of professionals worldwide encompassing research, devops and development.
“There are significant security risks that come with the exponential growth of the mobile market,” explained Fragomeni. “This creates both opportunities and challenges. Our goal is to provide software that educates people and their organizations about risk – and the tools to mitigate those risks – in a way that is user-friendly, unobtrusive and honest.”
“Under Paolo’s leadership, the NowSecure engineering team has already built effective tools that are highly focused on organization-wide leverage,” explained Hoog. “Equally important to Paolo’s technical skill is his commitment to the Open Source community – this commitment has always been central to the NowSecure philosophy, and is just one more reason why Paolo is the ideal addition to our executive team.”
Fragomeni will accelerate the company’s development of new innovations while maintaining the momentum created by a series of recent product introductions. Most recently, NowSecure recently unveiled a new version of NowSecure Lab䋢, which lets developers and security managers reduce security risks through automated vulnerability testing either on-premise or through the cloud. NowSecure also recently announced the beta of NowSecure Intelligence䋢, its mobile threat analytics product, which uses the NowSecure growing global database built on real-time data to present an aggregated view of the state of mobile security worldwide.
About NowSecure
Mobile apps define an enterprise’s digital presence and drive engagement with both employees and customers. However, the rapid pace of mobile innovation introduces security, safety and privacy risks that traditional risk management technologies often miss. By partnering with NowSecure to build a Mobile Applications Risk Management (MARM) program, organizations are better protected against the risks that plague the largely insecure mobile app ecosystem. NowSecure provides policy-driven progressive testing tailored to risk tiers, combining automated continuous assessments with expert Pen Testing as a Service (PTaaS) to pinpoint and remediate security, safety, and privacy issues. This approach shrinks the mobile app attack surface and accelerates app releases. Built on a foundation of industry standards by mobile security experts, NowSecure safeguards many of the world’s leading brands and their employees, partners and customers.
