Protect your app from network attacks
viaLab: Now featuring automated sensitive data detection
viaLab, the mobile app security assessment suite developed by viaForensics, now includes automated sensitive data detection, including inside the SSL connection used by most apps.
Automated detection dramatically reduces the time required to discover sensitive data leaks during application development, while increasing assurance such issues are discovered.
Automated sensitive data detection
viaLab automatically searches data-in-transit for key data points, such as usernames, passwords, and keywords, to assist you in finding data leakage faster and more efficiently. WeÍve automated many advanced grep commands into viaLab which searches your applicationÍs data at rest, including application data and device logs, as well as data in transit to ensure that no stone is left unturned. Combined with our all new Regular Expressions feature, viaLab brings you unparalleled automated mobile data discovery.
viaLab searches for sensitive data in multiple formats, including:
- Base-64 encoded
- Hashed values including:
- and more
Using the new Regular Expressions feature, an analyst is able to flag data as a high sensitivity / compliance issue, such as SOX, HIPAA, and more. Any keywords discovered during an assessment that have been flagged as high sensitivity by the user will be automatically identified in the assessment report. For more information, see the gallery of images of this feature below, and check out our other viaLab features.
